I always buy Samsung genuine filters. I know you are fighting thefts but at what expense. Honestly I have to work hard to get the filter out of the packaging. The plastic is so hard and no way to open it so I have to cut open the packaging which creates sharp edges and points. Honestly, this is at best dangerous. I really would not want to injure myself just to get the product. Can you please do something to make this better?

Word of warning, when you place your order make sure you get the correct filter by calling. Do not go by the recommendations online. I bought a two pack and they sat for a couple months till I got back from out of town and they were the wrong filter. You only have 15 to 30 days to return so I was out of the window. I am very pleased with this filter and the taste of my water. Having the indicator light in the fridge has been a great help since I can be away for months at a time. Love my new appliance suite!

The water filter is so hard to get on. I just replaced mine a month ago left for work on Friday came home after 9hrs to find i has w inches of water in my kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and living room. I have water damage to everything carpet has to be replaced and cabinets and since it was the weekend have to wait till Monday for insurance and hope they will cover it. I am scared to leave to house now. O yea not mention my neighbor also have water damage. This all had to do with the water filter.

As a result, I’m loving the water dispenser, pitcher, and ice maker! Speaking from experience, read the instructions carefully, definitely shut off your water supply feeding into the fridge before changing the cartridge. This is crucial to prevent the cartridge casing from damage. Other than that, it’s a simple twist and pull to take the old one out, plug the new one in, give it a wiggle and twist to lock it in. My fridge model will show the exact % life left on the screen or phone app, so I know when to change it next time.

As instructed, after filter installation, you have to let the water run for a few minutes. About a gallon or so, then the filter and system is ready, tasting clean and fresh. My family and I, use the refrigerator's water dispenser every day. So, having the best tasting water is very important. Overall the installation and use of the Samsung HAF-QIN water filter is easy and provides a great tasting water for my family. I will definitely buy this water filter again.

I inserted my genuine Samsung water filter. Went out to run some errands. Came home an hour later and there's water dripping out of the ceiling in my basement. I removed the old one, popped the new one in, flushed the water by filling the jug and disposing it about 7 times (I used this information based on my old Samsung fridge), and that was basically it. The fit was perfect, it wasn't too hard to rotate it and lock (also based on my previous experience), and the water tastes clean and fresh with no weird taste or odor. The only part that had me scratching my head was figuring out how to reset the filter indicator afterward. I couldn't immediately figure out how to do it, but that's really a refrigerator setting and has nothing to do with the filter itself.

It is very convenient to both remove and replace the filters - just twist and pull and to replace, push and turn. Using Samsung filters allows for perfect fit into the filter compartment. Since water is integral to the refrigerator in terms of fresh water dispensed (including filling water pitcher inside the refrigerator) and for making ice, it is important to get a quality filter. Samsung's filter does not disappoint on that level. Both water and ice are clear, clean and healthy as a result of the filter used.

The filter is centrally located behind a flip up door in the center of the main refrigerator compartment. Installation is very easy. You twist the old filter and pull it out. Then you push in the new one and twist it in place. Takes a few seconds and then the replace filter light resets. Packed in a no frills easy to open box. My only complaint was the lack of instructions on the box. I had done a filter replacement before so I didn’t need them but they would be helpful to new owners.

My Hubby said that it was very easy to install the new filter. He just unscrewed the old one and pulled it out. The next step was to then slide in the new one and twist it to lock it in. Easy peazy. It only took a minute to do and then all we had to do was flush the water pitcher several times to ensure the water was filtered free of any charcoal particles. When you do this several times you may have to wait for the final pitcher to get cold since you are pulling a large amount of water through the system in a short time and it hasn’t had a chance yet to get chilled. This is a quick fix for tastier water and ice cubes. It is well worth the price for months of clean filtered water.

You just twist the old one out and pop the new one in place until it clicks, took me less than two minutes. We ran a few gallons through first like the manual says to clear out any carbon dust. After that the water came out super clear and it taste totally fresh with zero weird chemical or chlorine smell. Even our ice cubes look clearer now and dont have that stale freezer taste anymore. For the pros, it fits perfectly in my Samsung fridge with no leaks at all and the water flow rate is really good. Another big pro is the peace of mind knowing its an official OEM part so it wont damage the fridge. As for the cons, these original filters are definately a bit pricey compared to the generic knockoffs you see online. Also resetting the filter indicator light on the fridge display was kind of confusing until I looked it up on my phone. Overall the pros definitely outweigh the cons because the water quality is great and I would recommend it to anyone with this fridge.

I had always loved Samsung products so we have purchased several through the years but the standards recently have fallen short over the past few years. The dryer heating element went out in the first year we purchased our Samsung washer and dryer and the design they used on our new Samsung Refrigerator leaves alot to be desired, the ice maker especially!! Our old refrigerator (Amana)lasted us over 25 years and the icemaker made it to 20 years. We had had success in other Samsung products so we opted for the Samsung Refrigerator we have had it less than 3 yrs and have had trouble with the ice maker within the first year ice always building up and preventing ice from being made, very poor design. And then today the water on the door tried to flood my kitchen after I had just filled a cup, the water just kept on flowing freely even with the door opened. Apparently the switch on the inside of the door is faulty!!! SAMSUNG WHERE HAVE YOUR STANDARDS GONE?!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I think we will be switching our appliances out to another company until or if Samsung can ever fix their newly designed defective practices.

i have the 4-door flexzone fridge, rf24r7201sr, manf oct '20, came with haf-qin-exp filter (says replacement filter is da97-17376b, for use in system da97-08006c). replacement filter matched but said for use in system da97-08006c-a. oddly, the orange store sells this same filter but has haf-qins-exp on the package (but filter itself says haf-qin-exp). samsung support couldn't explain the differences so -1 star. i turned off the main water supply and let out some water from the fridge to relieve the pressure, removed the old filter, following suggestions here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/tsg01109722/ installed new filter turning a few times before it seated but seemed to fit ok. ran about 5 gals through after, everything seems good, no leaks or issues.

I removed the old filter, installed the new filter, and per the instructions I flushed three gallons of water. If you don’t flush, you’ll notice some stuff floating around in your water. This filter lasts long on average in comparison to other peer brands. My filter lasted around a year while other makes filters are to be changed every 6 months or less. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the Samsung water filter for my refrigerator. It is super easy to install. The refrigerator even notifies when it is time to replace the filter. Removing the old filter is as simple as opening the cover, gripping the handle on bottom of filter and turning counter-clockwise and then simply pulling it out. Install is just the opposite. Insert the new filter straight in and ensure it is seated. You can tell it is seated by when the filter is all the way in. The rotate the filter 1/2 turn clockwise and it will stop rotating. Close the cover door. You are done. Take a bow. Then you just need to run a few pitchers of water through the dispenser to clear air out and any charcoal dust. Don't be alarmed by the water being cloudy the first couple pitchers. That is just air bubbles and some charcoal dust. Water and ice from the refrigerator is always sparkling and refreshing. I used an after market filter before and it leaked because it didn't seat correctly. So, always use Samsung filters.

I compared tap water and filtered water using a TDS meter. Tap water measured 122 ppm and filtered water 130 ppm. Based on these results, I couldn’t see any improvement with the filter, since the mineral levels were basically the same.

Samsung improved the design compared to their older, bulkier style. The new profile is slimmer and longer, which reminds me a lot of LG’s filter. The compact shape makes sliding it in and locking it into place easy and painless. It works great right out of the box. The water flow is good, and the taste is clean and crisp. Just remember to run about two to three gallons through the dispenser right after installing it. Purging clears out the trapped air pockets and loose carbon fines so you don't get sputtering or cloudy water. Each one easily lasts the full six months. My advice is to keep an extra one in the pantry so you aren't scrambling to order a replacement when it’s time to replace it.

The difference was noticeable almost immediately. The first glass of water with the new filter tasted much fresher, cleaner, and more refreshing than what I had gotten used to. It was one of those things where you don’t really notice the gradual change in taste until you replace the filter and suddenly realize what you’ve been missing. I didn’t read the reviews before removing my original filter to make sure I ordered the correct replacement. When I tried to reinsert like instructions for inserting a new one until my new cartridge came, it hissed and leaked all in my drawers. I am terrified to leave it without my frig flooding! I just left it out and hope I can make ice since I had to reset my ice maker! I have no confidence that a new filter will work bc I should be able to stick my original one in as a placeholder. I have been referring everyone to your product but can’t in good conscience anymore bc if this major defect! Help! What are my options!? Very disappointed.

It's manufactured by Samsung, so I knew there wouldn't be any compatibility issues. Installation was fairly simple and took about 10-15 minutes. The hardest part of the install was flushing the water line after. My refrigerator's change filter indicator turned off automatically. The water and ice tastes noticeably cleaner. After a few days of use I checked for issues, and I have not noticed any issues with leaking or breaks in water pressure

My only problem with this filter is how difficult it is to install. The directions are unclear and I had to watch a YouTube video to do it exactly right. It is not as simply as removing it and putting it back in. You have to turn it counterclockwise to the lock picture and then turn it clockwise and push it in really hard to get it in correctly. Once it's in its great but it can be a bit anxiety provoking getting it in right.

Then slide and twist the other way to put the new one in. For my refrigerator, It's right in front so it's easy to see and I don't have to twist and turn my body to get access to it. Also, the is great as it gets rid of all the bad toxins that come in on the water from the water company. I'm definitely happy I have this refrigerator and these water filters. The other nice feature is on my refrigerator A clearly shows the lock symbol which tells me which way the hours have to be in order to be locked which is an added benefit

I purchased a genuine replacement filter using the Samsung Subscription Service. The filter replacement seemed easy enough...unscrew the old filter and screw in the new filter. I did this in the evening and at the time everything seemed ok. I woke up the next morning and my kitchen AND Basement was flooded. Several thousands of dollars in damage. When I removed the new filter I installed I could tell the water was dripping from the plunger/nozzle on the filter housing. Not enough to give any warning at the time of the replacement of the filter. As evident with the numerous bad reviews there seems to be a design flaw or just plain bad engineering with the filtration system. I would highly recommend staying away from Samsung Refrigerators.

i seem to disagree with the other reviewers. i followed the instructions, but the filer was very difficult to remove, so the first time i called samsung's help line to see if it was ok to remove with a pliers. they said "yes". i removed and reinstalled with no problem. we drink a lot of water, so i knew the filer wasn't going to last 6 months; it lasted about 3-3 1/2. our house has a whole house filter on it anyway, but this filter seems to make the water taste cleaner. even the cats prefer water from the refrigerator than the tap! i usually order two filters at a time, in case they are on back order. this will be my third filter. i have no complaints!

What I really like about this is the water filter helps the water to taste better so I don’t notice any chlorine taste or have any sediment in my water. This filter was a little tricky to figure out how to change initially but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to twist and remove the old one and insert the new one. I don’t quite know how it works, but it does work well and the water comes out clear and tasteless. Best to use the name brand one for easy replacement.

I like my water to be very fresh and cold so I like the water with this water filter. It was easy to install. I think it took less than a minute. You do have to cycle water through it, just like other water filters, but it’s not a huge deal. If you want to stick with Samsung brand water filters, this one is worth the cost.

I held off on buying these for a year or two because of the reviews. Haha. May have been a first timers luck, but I had no issue installing it in my 4 door, 28cu, smart hub fridge. No leaks or anything unusual rather than water sputtering out of water dispenser for a few seconds as it adjusted to the new filter. I didn't turn off my water (tough to get to without scratching my tile floors), but just gently turned the water filter into place until it caught and went in. Had to do an extra rotation at first since it didn't seem aligned, but eventually went in, no problem. Best of luck! Hopefully my luck continues... haha

i purchased the exact genuine samsung water filter, haf-qin/exp, for my 3-month old refrigerator. new filter does not fit. with calipers, i measured the dimensions of the plastic catch (showing mechanical conflict) and catch is thicker on the new filter (batch code a8441) than the original filter (batch code b0431). very disappointing quality issue for an expensive new refrigerator. from other comments, i see this is a known issue to samsung. the link i see on some comments, which is supposed to help you install new filter does not work either. why hasn't this issue been resolved by recalling defective filters?
